So far I didn’t do much creative jet today… but I do want to share with you a felting poem I was taught by Mari Nagi. It is in German but I´ll try to translate it into English.
Du, der Du aus Lammwolle bist, You , the one you are from lambswool
von zehn Fingern sorgfältig gelegt, with ten fingers carefully placed/layered
mit 1000 Wassertropfen bespritzt, sprinkled on with 1000 waterdrops
von starken Pferden auf den Wiesen , by strong horses in the meadow
gewalkt, felted / rolled
er Schatz unseres , You our precious treasure of our
Heimatlandes, home country
werde nicht so löchrig wie ein Sieb, don’t become with holes like a colander
werde so weiß wie Schnee, be as white as snow
so stark wie Stein, as strak as a stone
so soll es sein! So itshould be!
(Mongolischer Filzspruch) Mongalian Felting blessing
People in Mongolia say this blessing before they start to wet the wool…
It is fun to do as there are also movements involved, but too difficult to explain now
