TAG | garden
The winter is now officinally over even though this year we didn't really had much of a winter I think we had barely 3 nights with frost. Even my perannials of last summer survived outside and started to bloom in February!! Amazing nature.
Childrens part of the garden " way" back from the house on the hill
I has been very quiet here lately, and I must admit it is due to all kind of factors in my life. All my creativity is gone, but slowly coming back.
I can enjoy my garden again, sow flowers for ecoprinting get as many for as low costs.
Tagetes and Anthirrrinum majus, (for the kids)
2 weeks ago I had a special evening : a group of people whom want to make something floral everytime, no one is teacher, just to think of something else in the floral field and keep updated.
The theme was floral light and i wil show you a small detail of it.
Enjoy your day and I hope to post more regular from now on again.
Sunday is a good day to revieuw my last week and share my happy moments with you.
Monday was a not usual workday for me… Instead of having to teach I was standing at a flower event in Alden Biesen in Belgium. This event opened for public from Friday till Monday and attracts thousands of people. Our students decorated a part of the castle´s attic and I was there to promote our school. It was great. I had very nice talks with all kind of people. Like the 2 English Florist teachers whom travelled 14 !! hours on way just to get there.
Tuesday I had a super good class with my students, and felt very satisfied. at home I baked a `kweepeer`tarte tartin for my colleagues, dyed my white dress red and enjoyed the sunshine.
Wednesday always a long teaching day, but a close colleague was going to be 50 and we planned and made some nice decoration for his office… having much Pre- fun already
Thursday finally some time to dye the dress in blue so I’ll get purple and redecorate my windowsill with the felt united piece and after that it was felting time , jippie!
Friday my daughter was sick but she wanted to help me every now, we had a nice chat very sunny weather and my dress was drying very well, so anxious to see the result, oh and I made a new felting tutorial
Saturday a day for me and the girls, mr husband was gone all day so we enjoyed the time with the 3 of us, went shopping, kids made cookies and I was even able to felt a new lampshade for my exhibition next Sunday
Today again a sunny day and I started with running with 2 other ladies at 7.30 in the morning!! we run into the Forrest and it was nice to do. After a shower and breakfast I started to prepare 2 new wrap skirts. Let’s hope they come out the way I planned them to be. I was finally able to open up my dress and it was fitting me!! after having a little photo shoot I found so many flowers still in bloom I had to walk through the garden and pictured them all
I can look back on a super nice week. Hope you can too!!
Today I had a creative day in`s Hertogenbosch. A special day for teachers in floristy from all over the Netherlands. Most of my colleques were allowed to go and I must admit we had a super fun and very interesting day!! First workshop for me was working with glass. Got many tips on how to do this with students too. Second workshop was about fragrance and flowers given by Jacques Coolen. Did you knew the smelling capability of a nose will reduce after the age of 39??? I didn’t and I am kind of relieved I still have a few years before that starts to happen to me I love flowers which have a beautyfull fragrance, although those flowers mostly not bloom for long but we cannot have a super strong long lasting flower and a strong fragrance… Whom knows maybee in the future …
What has this all got to do with my creative place I hear you wonder. Well I had my creative afternoon yesterday at home…..
prunned the hedge (by hand!!), planted cucumbers, salad and strawberries
There’s nothing better thanthe smell of freshcut green, walking and working barefeethed in nice sunshine!!
….and enjoying my tree peonies in bloom…

Today was such a wonderfull day! Sunny and warm (17 -18? degrees C ) a perfect springday. In the morning I was teaching and I also took the students with me outisde, was so nice to walk through the schoolgarden and tell about plants, names, color, etc. after that work was done and I got home I wandered into my own garden with my camera. here some impressions… Oh and best of all we had the premiere of having dinner outside…. Jippie!! There’s nothing better than eating outside in my garden I really hope you will also soon be able to eat or sit outside.
Let’s hope tomorrow will be another day like this… no work only free -to- do -whatever -I- like-time:) no appointments till the kids come home from school ….
This week was gone before I knew. A good sign don’t you think? It wasn’t an ordinairy week, no we had Carnaval and the kids were free from school. So a relax week for us all …… .
- On sunday my kids and me went to Maastricht to join the carnaval parade, we sure had fun as the car didn’t start… I pushed a lot and was never soo early at home again (17.15 h), due to my mother whoms feeth hurt. Next year I’ll be planning something with other people to celebrate also in the evening
- Monday was great too seeing the parade in our village
- Tuesday was a topper although I still have mixed feelings about it, as I missed the last day of Carnaval in Maastricht becasue we went to the beach in Zeeland Made beautyfull pictures there, burned my face and felt very lazy
- Wednesday was a day I’d rather forget, grey and dark, no energy….
- Thursday was a fun day with my friend and her kids coming over to felt. They inspired me to felt new stuff on Friday.
- Friday I was happy to bring 1140,- euro to the bank for the charity Reumafonds, the result of a door- to- door action of many volunteers. I organise this in my village for almost 10 years now. Feels good to do something for charity. Such terrible news about Japan.. take care all of you whom live there!!
- Saturday was a super day, worked outdoors all day and best of all, saw the first butterfly this year!!! let’s hope for many more, as seeing butterflies is a sign atmosphere is still okay to live in….
Most pictures in this post are taken today, we had a real spring day here with 16 degrees and lots of sunshine, worked all day in the garden was also a nice day. Kids were outisde all day and build a fort, drawn a map on my terrace and had fun.
Hope you had lots of happy moments too last week
