CAT | Floristy
After having this high fever I went back to work, not completely feeling 100 % myself , but ok. When I came home last Monday I got a message 2 people called me and asking me if I was able to make a funeral flower piece. Two funerals in one week… wow.. As I really love making flower arrangements I said yes.
So Thursday I started with making all these flower arrangements and just when the first one was finished I got a call: The grandmother of my Husband died that morning.. She was 92 yrs old. I was so touched and upset I couldn’t continue working at the arrangements for one or 2 hours.. I also offered to make the funeral piece for grandma, but they didn’t want me to make it ……
Here are some picture of the pieces I made for the funerals for Friday and Saturday.
The bases is also made by myself, used a saw, and a screwing machine….
This piece was made to place on the coffin.
Two totally different flower arrangements… one with many colors and one in only one… I cannot say which one is my favourite… I like them both
So last evening I had 3 lovely ladies here coming over to learn how to felt. They never felted anything before but look how nice the results are.
After they went home I still needed to make a flower arrangement for a funeral.. this is what I made at midnight time:
hope it also looks good in daylight…
Now I feel so tempted to felt some of them too for myself. (the mittens I mean, hihi’).. hmm may bee not such a bad idea Enjoy your day!!
Hehe, I am ready with my Christmas decorations , just in time…
This year I decided to make my own tree, with branches and some evergreens to it. My kids were and are still not fond of it. So they got their own smaller tree, out in the garden , inside again …. this is their tree:
I started with tie-ing some branches upside down onto a pin in a trunk. Added some Pinus branches in the top and some Chameacyparis “Conifeer” in Dutch at the bottom, lights went is plus glass balls. I think it is a nice tree, just as I thought it would be like when I got this idea …
The tree is not the only thing I have decorated, I also made a new presentation in my windowsill..
and when I went outside to check I really was surprised by how it looked
and for my garage door: a huge wreath of 90 cm
and at the little table for the kids I added some nice baby-roses in different glass bottles and the kids really really love it “Oh Mummy that looks so cool!! Thank you .
in my kitchen I have a side cupboard and it have made this setting there:
I really wish you are also ready with all the decorations for Christmas. Tomorrow We ‘ll just have to focus on preparing the foods. I really wish you’ll have a relaxed Christmas time.
Today I taught the students how to make an advents Wreath, talked about all the symbolical things in it like the greens, candles and decorations, while we were all adding greens to our straw based wreath……
I even maneged to make a huge one for the employees room in our school. I worked a little longer to get it decorated, but the result is just what I had in mind. So happy about it . Now I just hope my colleagues will not demolish it
I still need to make one for myself , ll do so with my kids this week or so …..
It looks as if I got my flower spirit completely back , I get new ideas, feel like creating something with natural materials. Cannot wait to get started for Christmas …
I can hear you think … what do these balloons have too do with flowers? Well the fact that the school of my kids existed for 25 years was a reason to organise workshops with children. They made small food, decorations for the place where the party was and flowers were also needed.
So for yesterday I was asked to help making flower arrangements with the children at de Openbare Basisschool “de Bundeling” I said yes, not knowing I only got half an hour per group and 23 children per group, Iecks.
But I made an example and guided them step by step through the whole process… got some help of the teacher and 2 others and I must admit the results look quite good The flower pieces are used at the party to decorate the tables.
