Amazing

Nature

One of my colleagues took some branches along which are a piece of art I think.

plant, takken,

Ever seen this ? It is called Euonymus phellomanus  or Kardinaalshoed  in Dutch.

Found on the net: First collected as seed from China in 1894, Euonymus phellomanus has small inconspicuous flowers in spring, followed by vivid lipstick-pink fruit in autumn, which split to reveal conspicuous orange seeds.
Another notable feature is the corky, winged stems which are particularly eye-catching once the leaves fall in in winter. Euonymus phellomanus will fruit reliably as a single, specimen plant even when quite young. A superb, ornamental garden plant!

The structures are amazing don’t you think?

My pictures don’t do justice to it, but hope you will get the idea

Occupied

After having this high fever I went back to work, not completely feeling 100 % myself , but ok. When I came home last Monday I got a message 2 people called me  and asking me if I was able to make a funeral flower piece.  Two funerals in one week…  wow.. As I really love making flower arrangements I said yes.

viltalakim, roos, grafwerk

So Thursday I started with making all these flower arrangements and just when the first one was finished I got a call: The grandmother of my Husband died that morning.. She was 92 yrs old.  I was so touched and upset I couldn’t  continue working at the arrangements for one or 2 hours..  I also offered to make the funeral piece for grandma, but they didn’t want me to make it :( ……

Here are some picture of the pieces I made for the funerals for Friday and Saturday.

viltalakim, grafbalk, ondergrond, bloemschikken

The bases is also made by myself, used a saw, and a screwing machine….

bloemwerk

grafwerk, kiststuk, flowers.

This piece was made to place on the coffin.

grafwerk, bloemstuk, begrafenisAnd this was a smaller one but in the same style

grafwerk, kiststuk, bloemwerkThe second piece

Two totally different flower arrangements… one with many colors and one in only one… I cannot say which one is my favourite… I like them both :)

Hehe, I am ready with my Christmas decorations , just in time…

This year I decided to make my own tree, with branches and some evergreens to it. My kids were and are still not fond of it. So they got their own smaller tree, out in the garden , inside again …. this is their tree:

kinderkerstboom

I started with tie-ing some branches upside down onto a pin in a trunk.  Added some Pinus branches in the top and some Chameacyparis “Conifeer” in Dutch at the bottom, lights went is plus glass balls. I think it is a nice tree,  just as I thought it would be like when I got this idea …

viltalakim, Christmastree

The tree is not the only thing I have decorated, I also made a new presentation in my windowsill..

viltalakim, vilt, felt, wool, tree, Christmas, kerstboom

and when I went outside to check I really was surprised by how it looked :)

viltalakim, kerst, vilt, felt, wool, wol,

and for my garage door: a huge wreath of 90 cm

and at the little table for the kids I added some nice baby-roses in different glass bottles and the kids really really love it :) “Oh Mummy that looks so cool!! Thank you .

viltalakim, kerstmis, trosroosjes

in my kitchen I have a side cupboard and  it have made this  setting there:

viltalakim, kerstmis, Christmas, angels, engeltjes

I really wish you are also ready with all the decorations for Christmas.  Tomorrow We ‘ll just have to focus on preparing the foods. I really wish you’ll have a relaxed Christmas time.
