TAST WIP

Last week I made 4 bracelets so I had a dry bracelet to do the new embroidery stitch on .. So plenty of time to think of how to use the stitch. Stitch no 4 is the cretan stitch. Hope I understood it correctly ….

Here a two pictures of what I started with..

TAST 3

This last week I enjoyed myself with learning the Feather stitch explained onPintangle  It is actually a combination of the 2 previous stitches. I first started on a little piece of embroidery raster from my daughter and after I knew what to do I gave it a try on a new made bracelet.

I really must admit this is so much fun and easy to do without getting wet, hihihi

TAST 2

Take  A Stitch Tuesday week 2 of 2012. This is a challenge where I wil learn an embroidery stitches every week of 2012.So the second stitch was called the Button hole stitch and announced on  this blog: Pin Tangle

I Dutch I know this stitch as ` feston steek` and I already taught my daughter this stitch a year ago when she made this edge of her slippers,

viltalakim, buttonhole stitch, feston steek, TAST

Unfortunately one shoe is missing….. :(

She made a new piece of felt and asked me “Mummy I want to make a nice edge…, what do you think is nice to do? “  I said the new stitch of the TAST.. ” OH I cannot do so Mummy, must be too difficult…” Then I showed her the post and she said: Hej, I know that stitch!! I can do that too !! ” So she started working on the edge of her piece of felt immediately :) This is her : borduren, feston steek

The difficulty about stitching on felt is you don;t have any raster or weaving lines…. so making all stitches nice and even is not so simple…

Here is a detail of an edge she made.  (I still need to hide the ends )

Fetson Steek, Button hole stitch

My own contributions to this weeks stitch was again a felted bracelet.. I really like making them and doing some embroidery on them So I decided to go for a bracelet every week… I hope to have  nice collection at the end of this year.. imagine 52 bracelets with a  different stitch per bracelet…… I already saw them displayed in my dreams :)

The inner circle isn’t stitches with the button hole stitch, but I just loved to use this stitch, I know as “whitches” stitch

viltalakim, felt, bracelet, TAST, armband, vilt,

What I love about embroidering onto felt is that I can hide all ends in the felt… as you can see on the picture not one stitch came through..

the bracelet turned inside out…

New felt

I finally made myself a pair of wrist warmers..  I used only 2 thin layers of wool and must admit they are soft and comfortable.. Some embroidery around the thumbs holes was done quite fast , still doubting is I also do the same with the other edges. What would you do?

TAST 1

Take  A Stitch Tuesday week 1 of 2012. This is a challenge where I wil learn an embroidery stitches every week of 2012. I really hope I can keep up with this challenge, but as this is the only thing I want to do every week besides felting… I give it a go..

So the first stitch was called the Fly stitch and announced on  this blog: Pin Tangle

I felt a little inconvenient, what to embroidery? Am I going to make samples or embroidery just what I have at hand?  I don’t know jet , but decided for this week to embroidery a new felted  bracelet I made.

viltalalkim, pintangle TAST

viltalakim, pin tangle, challange, tast

I really love this thread.. I bought it at a local store whom  delivers worldwide:  van der Venne mixes it themselves, great quality just the shiny glittery thread sometimes breaks easily…..  but that might say something about how hard I pull, hihihi

Today I’ll get to see  a new stitch of which I can try to make  and practice upcoming week…. cannot wait.
